Health Justice U.S. (HJUS) engages individuals, community leaders, organizations, and government agencies to work together using social media to create a viral movement focused on developing innovative solutions to address the countryʼs racial and ethnic health disparity crisis.

Health Justice U.S. is an innovative initiative designed to use social media as the foundation for raising awareness on the issue of racial and ethnic health disparities (REHD), across the United States.

The issue related to health equity are challenging and complex, however, through public will and activism there are individuals and organizations that are addressing health disparities within their community. These individuals and organizations are working to address problems and provide solutions that will positively impact others at a local level

Everyone should have an equal opportunity to be healthy, however, there are many elements that impact health such as the healthcare system, location of living, income status, language barrier, access to healthcare, environment, food deserts, genetics and more. Health disparities exist in the United States in many different forms and there are many factors that contribute to health disparities including race, ethnic background, and socio-economic status.

Health Justice U.S. was created by the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR). On February (2012) the Society for New Communications Research announced that it has received a $175,000 grant from the Connecticut Health Foundation for the Health Justice CT initiative, an innovative movement designed to use social media as the foundation for raising awareness and fostering public will to address the issue of racial and ethnic disparities (REHD) in Connecticut.
