Effective learning forms: Lithuania‘s best practice

The changing world, social, economic and environmental problems makes every person look for innovative methods of operation, creating a green, healthy and cultural dialogue which has reached the public. Creativity, entrepreneurship and social innovation elements are required in order to achieve these objectives. In this way, the idea turns into a creative goods or services that generate benefits, modern technology that affects the development of innovation, intangible values are becoming a competitive factor.

Lithuanian College of Democracy October, 2015 – September, 2016 implemented the project “Competencies development by cooperation and knowledge exchange in adult education“. Main aim of the project was to develop the teaching and managerial staff competencies in adult learning, improve cooperation and the exchange of knowledge in the field of adult education between educators and education provider, enhancing their skills and ensure the dissemination of publicity. Project is funded by Lithuanian College of Democracy and Norway grants financial mechanism.

Positive parenting as a form of cooperation

Positive parenting is a new definition which in the broadest sense means acquired skills to take care of children’s health, family welfare, child upbringing by creating conditions for the full development of child (physically, socially, emotionally and mentally). In a narrow sense it aims to eliminate improper child’s behaviour without penalties while allowing experiencing the natural consequences of the behaviour in order to learn to take responsibility for their behaviour.

Lithuanian College of Democracy partner Public institution „Children Education“ (lith. “Vaikų ugdymas”) organizes family camps since 2013. During the camp parents participate in various activities related to the education of children: discussions of education issues and activities with children, the practical implementation of the theory, and consultation with each other, sharing experiences and finding solutions. During the discussions parents were introduced to the education of children, positive education, emotion management and positive discipline principles. Parents face variety of problematic situation with children participating in activities. Situations are discussed and analysed together with children parents. Practice has shown that parents have a lot of knowledge but not always associate them with real life situations, requiring specific expertise and assistance in the country. Children participate in variety of activities in order to develop a harmonious personality, maintain and attract good character traits, create situations where they can develop independence and self-expression skills.

Inclusive education – one of the most effective ways to educate people with disorders

Inclusive learning is considered as one of the most effective ways to develop abilities of people with disabilities.

Many families face a lighter or heavier socio educational or psychological problems. Usually family is unable to overcome the difficulties of their own. In such cases, families may request the assistance of social teachers, family counsellors, psychologists or psychotherapists who provide the necessary assistance by using their knowledge and experience. There are many different family therapy and counselling methods around the world.
