On September 15, 2022, the scientific association “Lithuanian College of Democracy”, together with the association’s branch Children’s Day Center “Navininkai”, participates in the annual forum of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and state institutions, organized by the association “NGO Confederation for Children” with the theme “Changes in the child welfare system: current affairs and expectations?”.

The forum is intended to discuss the state’s child welfare policy, current challenges, news, and future visions. The forum is attended by responsible representatives of state and municipal institutions, who shape child welfare policy at the municipal level, coordinators of inter-institutional cooperation, other specialists, and representatives of NGOs working in the field of child welfare.

Association “NGO Confederation for Children” is the largest umbrella organization in Lithuania, which unites non-governmental organizations working with children and children. It actively participates in the transformation process of institutional care taking place in Lithuania, which aims to abandon institutional care of children and create flexible, capable of responding in time, community services, support, and support systems for all families raising children. During the event, presentations will be made by representatives of state institutions and non-governmental organizations, emphasizing changes in the child welfare system and providing insights into the successful functioning of the system.
